Jewel, No, 79 Fountain Pen, Green & Black w/Gold Plated Trim - VP4651

Lever filler; excellent pearlescent green and black marbled color and pattern with no discoloration; black cap top; no brassing or corrosion of gold plated trim and clip; two barrel imprints, both crisp and complete; crisp clip imprint; 14 karat Jewel Super SEMI-FLEXIBLE/DOUBLE BROAD nib; measures 4-7/8" capped, and 6-3/16" open with posted cap; some small scuffs due to age and use; barrel end has a tiny nick on the edge, otherwise very good plus overall condition with no chips or cracks in barrel or cap; made in England; RESTORED AND WORKING.

Very little information is found regarding the Jewel Pen Company.  Located on Newgate Street in London, they were advertising as early as 1904, and still active in 1929 as manufacturers of fountain, stylographic and gold pens, "propelling pencils, advertising novelties and wireless components (source:  Grace's Guide to British Industrial History).
